Earl Lewis Mobley, 65, of Waynesville died Monday morning (Aug. 23, 2010) at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick, following a lengthy illness. Born in Savannah, GA, his parents were Alvin Carroll Mobley and Bernice Morgan Mobley. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Lewis, Audry Roberson, Christine McDaniels, Lois McDonald and a brother, Alvin Mobley. He was a Vietnam vet and he owned and operated Lewis Country Village. He was of the Baptist faith. Lewis is survived by his wife, Mary Culbertson Mobley of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mark Cotney of Prosperity, SC; 2 Step daughters and sons-in-law, Tess and Stevie Cobb of Brunswick and Alice and Ed Stelle of Atkinson; 4 Step-sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Amy Carlton of Texas; Doug and Kathy Carlton; David Carlton; Mike and Devona Carlton all of IL; 19 grandchildren, Justin, Callie, Eston, Dieshi, Brandon, Breanna, Devon, Derrick, Cody, Kristen, Tiffany, Camryn, Lindsey, Joseph, Jorja, Justine, Mary Mae, Amanda and Ashlyn and 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Carlos Mobley of Pennsylvania and T.J. Mobley of NC; 2 Sisters, Clarice Laneave of Paducah, KY and Yvonne Lewis of Raybon; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 26,2010 at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
