Nahunta-Earl Travis Johns, 60, of Nahunta died early Thursday morning (December 8, 2011) at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Nahunta, GA, his parents were Perry and Mattie Moore Johns. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Harris Johns; 2 brothers, Horace and Jerry Johns; and a sister, Remonia Johns. Earl worked as a boilermaker employed with the local 26- Savannah. He loved farming, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include 2 daughters & son-in-laws, Marie & David Brooks, of Hickox, and Tracy & B.J. Hall, of Raybon; 4 grand children, Travis, Peyton, & Jacob Brooks, and Mary Hall; 3 Brothers & sis-in-laws, Ivey & Gail Johns of Hickox, Harvey & Susie Johns of Kingsland, and Bo & Janet Johns of Woodbine; a sister, Louise Harris of Hoboken. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (December 10, 2011) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (December 11, 2011) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel, Nahunta with Bishop Hugh Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery, Nahunta. Pallbearers will be Mike Johns, Danny Boy Moore, Jamie Warner, Ronnie Johns, Charles Harris, Skipper Harris, David Harris, and Roger Harris. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
