Eddie Lovester Oneal

Jesup-Mr. Eddie Lovester O'Neal, 86, of Jesup died Saturday evening (Apr. 28, 2012)at his daughters residence after an extended illness. Born in Jesup, Georgia he was the son of Jessie L. and Frances Brissel O'Neal. And was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Nettie Goss O'Neal, a son, Andrew "Drew" Raford O'Neal, 2-Grandchildren, Eric Kirkland and Hannah Teresa Barwick, also by 12 older Siblings. Mr. O'Neal was of the Baptist faith, he had worked as a Carpenter for Green Thumb in Jesup and over the years had also farmed and worked in pulpwood. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, also riding the countryside, he loved his family and spending time with them, also enjoyed a good dip and collecting knives. Survived by 5-children and 3-daughter-in-laws, Lloyd Lovester and Jeanette O'Neal, of Jesup, Brenda Pairlee O'Neal, of Brunswick, Jackson "Jack" Lee and Anna O'Neal, of Jesup, Janet Lynn O'Neal, of Jesup and Joel "Joe" Eddie and Charlotte O'Neal, of Jesup, 21-Grandchildren, 25-Great-Grandchildren and 3-Great-Great-Grandchildren, also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. Mr. O'Neal will be taken to his daughter Janet O'Neal's home at 750 Jesup Lake Rd. for visitation Monday afternoon at 3 PM and will remain there until time for services. Graveside services will be held at 3P.M. Tuesday (May 1, 2012) in The Odessa Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Jeffery Barwick officiating. Pallbearers are J.J., Ricky and Eddie O'Neal, Sandy Kelly, Clifton Dixon, Jessie Strickland, Lance and Kyle Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thelma Stephens, Butch Cole, Jason O'Neal, Jack Denmark, Peggy Mansfield, Andy Williams, CNA Gloria, Bill Manning, Hospice of S.E. Georgia, Dr. Pumpelly's Staff and Amiceta Home Health. All are asked to meet at the Odessa Cemetery by 2:45 P.M. Tuesday. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
