Edna Altman

Mrs. Edna Marie Altman, 51, of Nahunta passed away early Sunday morning (April 14, 2013) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA. Her parents are David "Ed " and Mary L. Flowers Tarner. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bub and Edna Johns Flowers. Edna worked with T & R Chevron as a Book keeper. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Edna was also known as "Mom" and she was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her parents, David "Ed" and Mary L. Flowers Tarner of Nahunta; 1 son, Jerry Franklin Altman, Jr. of Nahunta; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Melissa Marie Altman of Nahunta, and Rose Nichole Altman Thrift and husband Kevin ,also of Nahunta; 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie J. and Cody G. Russell; 1 sister, Dawn E. Tarner of Nahunta; a special aunt, Elizabeth "Bonnie " Flower, of Nahunta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Friday (April 19, 2013) starting at 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday (April 20,2013) at 11 AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. David Batten officiating. Burial will follow in Bachlott cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Thrift, William Anderson, Elijah Anderson, Jerry Altman, Jr., Jeremy Griffin, and Billy Flowers.
