Hoboken – Elaine Anderson Bond, 75, of Hoboken passed away Monday morning (April 27, 2020) at Hospice House Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.
Born in Douglas, GA her parents were Johnny Anderson and Mary Myrtle Gillispie Anderson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Bond; a son, Mark Day; a daughter, Lisa Elaine Day; and 2 brothers, Roger Anderson and David “Howdy” Anderson.
Elaine was retired from Interstate Paper Corporation as a clerical administrative assistant and a member of Hoboken Baptist Church. She loved gospel music and playing the piano.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Robert Gordon Anderson (Rhonda) of Nichols, GA; 2 sisters, Linda Edgerton of Blackshear and Larue Meeks (Carlis) of Nichols; stepson, Tuffy Bond (Jeanette) of Townsend; stepdaughter, Christy Chaney (Daryl) of Douglas; 3 step grandchildren, Hunter Bond, Fallon Bond and Cameron Bond all of Townsend; caregiver, Jena Chancey of Hoboken; special friend, Gail Griffin of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19, the family will be having a private graveside service Thursday (April 30, 2020) at Hoboken Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
