Hilliard- Gertrude "Elaine" Hickox Wofford, 49 of Hilliard, passed away Sunday (November 4, 2012) at Hospice of the Golden Isles following an extended illness. Born in Waycross GA her parents are Betty Jo Hobbs Crews and the late James Barney Hickox, she is also preceded in death by a son, Christopher James Hickox; 3 brothers, Claude, Morris, and Tony Hickox. Elaine loved being with family and her grandchildren, she worked many years as a convenient store sales clerk, and attended The Potter's Field Church. Survivors include her husband, Robin Tyron Wofford, of Tennessee; a son, Jason Emory Johns, of Nahunta; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandie Renee Johns (Richard Westberry), of Hoboken; 4 grandchildren, Callie Johns, Ceegee Renae and Cierra Brook Westberry, and Ashton Edwin Dean Johns; her mother and step-father, Betty Jo "B.J." Hobbs and Jewell Crews of Hilliard, FL.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Charlie Davis, of Blackshear; and a best friend, Barbara Fender, of Nahunta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Wednesday (November 7, 2012) at 1 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday afternoon (November 7, 2012) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta with Rev. Jimmy R. Mathis, Sr. and Rev. Larry Powell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Curtis Crews, Brady Hickox, Callie Johns, Richard Westberry, Rodney Crews, Clifford Johns,and Dean Johns. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
