Eliza Rowell Sloan

Hortense-Eliza Rowell Sloan, passed away Wednesday (June 26, 2013) at Memorial Health United Health Center in Savannah after an extended illness. Born in Hortense, GA her parents were William "Presley" and Martha Jane Crews Rowell. She is also preceded in death by two husbands; Inell Causey and Raleigh Sloan, and several brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of the Philadelphian Wesleyan Church. She loved cooking, reading, crocheting, and going to church. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Causey (Brenda) and Wayne Causey (Donna) both of Hortense; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Nell Courson of Hortense, Macy Ann Harrell (Creighton) of Brunswick, Kathy Robinson (Dale) of Hortense, Carmen Mathis (Mike) of Hortense; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday (June 28, 2013) starting at 1 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday (June 28, 2013) at 2 PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R. C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery, Hortense. Pallbearers will be Joey Courson, Micheal Harrell, Charlie Causey, Sam Harrell, Eric Causey, and Dustin Causey. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
