Nahunta-Elma Louise Lewis Willis, 85, of Nahunta died Thursday afternoon (December 9, 2010) at Southeast Georgia Health System after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta her parents were Harley and Eliza Mamie Herrin Lewis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Willis; a son, Tommy Willis; a brother, Herman Lewis; and a sister, Dora Wilson. Elma was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, fishing and working in the her flowers. Also she is a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church. Survivors include 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Julian & Diane Willis of Nahunta, James Beauford Willis of Browntown, Gary Willis, Virgil C. Willis & Gail and Travis & Lynn Willis all of Raybon; 3 daughters, Beth Thomas of Nahunta, Darlene Johns and Ivalyn Marie Willis & Danny both of Hickox; 19 Grandchildren; 39 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (December 11, 2010) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (December 12, 2010) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Jacobs, Rev. Hilton Morgan and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating. Mrs. Elma will lay in state in the chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Raybon. Pallbearers will be Scotty Willis, Brock Willis , Dustin Thomas, Josh Willis, Billy Willis and Devin Johns.
