Hortense – Elnita Bennett Davison, 75, of Hortense passed away early Saturday morning (April 23, 2022) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Pearson, GA, her parents were Grady Bennett and Ruby Arnold Lampkin. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Leggett; and a brother, Hershel Bennett.
Elnita was the secretary for Davison’s Farms Inc. and a member of The Salt House Worship Center. She loved spending time with her family, especially going on family vacations and cooking Sunday dinners. Elnita enjoyed going to the beach, cooking, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Deryl Davison of Hortense; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Davison (Danette) and Mike Davison (Misty) all of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Penny Leggett (Chris) of Hortense; 8 grandchildren, Danielle Knight (Kasey), Terra Sowell (David Wykstra), Kordd Davison (Melessa), Spring Gillis (Nick), Cricket O’Neal (Matthew), Shade Davison, Whitney Lewis (Denvia Gutierrez) and Kyler Lewis (Gage Hathcock); 12 great grandchildren, John Thomas Knight, Hannah Knight, Kaleb Knight, Caroline Knight, Maylee Sowell, Olivia Davison, Waylon Gillis, Madilynn Jade Oakley, Haven Gillis, Jack Wykstra, Millie Wykstra and Parker Wykstra; 4 special children in her life, Bentley, Addie, CeCe and Kennedy; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Hubert Bennett, Ferrell Bennett and Johnny Bennett (Gail) all of Millwood; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita Pittman (Wallace) of Callahan, FL and Linda Swain (Richard) of Patterson; her special dog, Booger; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening (April 24, 2022) from 6pm – 8pm at The Salt House Worship Center in Hortense.
A funeral service will be held Monday morning (April 25, 2022) at 11am at The Salt House Worship Center with Kasey Knight, Pastor Chris Boyd, Pastor James Lovell, and Pastor Ashton Ham officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kordd Davison, Shade Davison, Nick Gillis, Matthew O’Neal, Kyler Lewis and Gage Hathcock.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
