Folkston- Mrs. Elvera Redding O'Berry,80, of Folkston died Friday morning (Nov. 26,2010)in the Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, after a extended illness. Mrs. O'Berry was a native of Hoboken but had lived in Charlton County for the last 42 years. A homemaker, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a member of The Winokur Baptist Church in Winokur, and attended the Senior Adult Class for many years before her health failed. She was the daughter of Edgar and Effie Lee Redding. And was also preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Strickland and Doris Crews. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, David C. O'Berry, Sr., of Folkston, a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William (Pumpkin) Johns, of Waynesville, 3-sons and daughters-in-law, David C. O'Berry, Jr., Larry and Carolyn O'Berry and Ricky and Lisa O'Berry all of Folkston, 5-sisters and brothers-in-law, Effie Mae Strickland, of Waycross, Evelyn Dowling, Louise and Billy Dawson, all of Hoboken, Pearl and Earl Boatright, of Blackshear and Bernetta and Rayford Thomas, of Bloomingdale, GA., 3-brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Louise Redding, of Bloomingdale, GA., J.E. & Jean Redding , of Nichols, GA. and Durwood Redding, of Hoboken, Special friend, Dana Brand of Nahunta , 7-grandchildren, Ashley O'Berry, Justin O'Berry, Felisha Ponsell, Michael Johns, Bill Johns, Lamar Johns and Darrell Curry, And a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends. Mrs. O'Berry will be taken to her home Sunday evening for visitation from 6 P.M.- until on Allen-O'Berry Cemetery Rd. Funeral services for Mrs. O'Berry will be Monday morning (Nov. 29, 2010) at 11 :00 A.M. from the Winokur Baptist Church in Winokur with Rev. Reggie Herrin, Rev. Wayne Manning and Rev. Cliff Adams officiating. Mrs. O'Berry will lay in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the family plot in the Allen-O'Berry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin O'Berry, Matt O'Berry, Adam O'Berry, Chad Lowther, Leroy O'Berry and Jimmie O'Berry. Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta is in charge of the arrangements.
