Hoboken-Emily Robbins Jacobs, 87 of Hoboken, passed away late Monday night at 11:35PM( August 27, 2012) at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Atlanta, GA., she is preceded in death by her birth parents, Harry D. and Amelie Alley Bennett, and her adopted parents, Alex Walter and Sarah Jane Sweat Robbins. She is also preceded in death by her two husbands, Calvin Eugene Jacobs, and David R. Queen, 2 sons, and a daughter-in-law, Ray E. and Julia K. Jacobs, and Roy Jacobs, 2 great grandsons, Kyle Crews, and Flint Tompkins, and 1 brother, Walter Robbins. Emily was a cook for Hoboken Elementary School where she was known as "The Bread Lady" and was a member of Philippian Worship Center. Emily loved working in her yard, reading her bible, watching t.v., and spending time with her family. Survivors include 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Gene Jacobs, of Jacksonville, Fl; Bennie Jacobs, of Hoboken, and Alec and Lisa Jacobs, of Hoboken; 2 daughters, Carol J. Mann, of N. Aug., SC, and Char J. Griffin, of Hoboken; a daughter-in-law, Scarlet Jacobs, of Hoboken; 14 grandchildren and their spouses, J.W. and Trish Crews, of euless, TX, Laura and Chris Doremus, of Tx, Tony and Lisa Barber, of Waynesville, Jeff and Heather Barber, of Savannah, Chris Jacobs, Mistie Harris, both of N. Aug. SC., Sean and Carolina Hatchett, of Jacksonville, Marla and Eric Herrin, of Patterson, GA, Britney and Rob Tompkins, of Moultrie, GA., Lon Jacobs, of TX, Trent Jacobs, Alecia Jacobs, Jacob "JJ" Jacobs, all of Hoboken, and Lisa Oglesby, of Waycross; 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening ( August 29, 2012) from 6PM-8PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday afternoon ( August 30, 2012) at 4PM at Philippian Worship Center in Hoboken, with Rev. Freddie Newman and Rev. Glynn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hoboken City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Barber, Jeffrey Barber, Sean Hatchett, Chris Jacobs, Trent Jacobs, Tillman Braddy, and Jacob "JJ" Jacobs.
