Emogene Jennings Goodwine

Nahunta – Emogene Jennings Goodwine, 85, of Nahunta passed away early Saturday morning (December 26, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Beach Grove, KY her parents were Fredrick and Corine Wills Jennings. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Ernie Goodwine; a son, Jerry Goodwine; and 3 sisters, Louise Winstead, Evalene Stiles, and Lena Mae Wilson.

Emogene was a retired line worker for Faultless Caster and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved traveling, gardening, going to yard sales, playing cards and putting puzzles together.

She is survived by a son, Ernest Ray Goodwin of Waycross; a daughter and her spouse, Patricia Jean Goodwine (Peggy Anderson) of Nahunta; 9 grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon Moten(Able), Jennifer Thornburg(Jay), Joey, Ernest Goodwine, Jr., Nicole Jernigan(Dewayne), Mark Goodwine, Jason Chamberlain(Sarah), Patrick Moore, and Christopher Moore; 19 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Corum of Pikesville, KY; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Emogene Goodwine to Southeastern Bank, 105 Bacon St. Nahunta GA 31553.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice of Jesup for the care of Emogene.
