Emory Dale Roberson, 49, of Hortense died Tuesday night (February 16, 2010) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Folkston, GA his parents are Charlton Emory Roberson and the late Corene Moody Roberson. He was a recovery operator for Georgia Pacific in Brunswick and was of the Wesleyan faith. Dale was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed horse back riding. Survivors include his wife of 29 years June Wheeler Roberson of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Josh & Alyson Roberson of Hortense; a grandson, Marshall Roberson of Hortense; his father and his step-mother, Emory & Novis Roberson of Hortense; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy & Bobby Nabb and Joy & Joey Courson both of Hortense; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (February 18, 2010) starting at 6 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (February 19, 2010) at 1 P.M. at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R. C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wendol Flowers, Mike Roberson, Mike Roberson, Eddie Dubberly, Phillip Jones and Gary Brooks. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
