Essie Boatwright Rodrigues

Mrs. Essie Boatwright Rodrigues,76 of Brunswick, passed away Sunday morning (March 12, 2017) at her residence surrounded by family & friends .

Born in Patterson, GA , she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tom” Boatwright and Evener M. Adams Boatwright. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wendell T. Rodrigues; a grandson, Mark Thomas Czerepiski; several brothers and sisters-in-law ,Benjamin Boatwright, Joe and Odessa Boatwright, Lee Boatwright, Richard and Verlie Boatwright, Larry Boatwright, and Burrell and Patsy Boatwright; sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernice Boatwright ,Muriel Grubbs, and Bertie and Callah Adams.

Mrs. Essie was of the Christian faith and retired as a cook with Shoney’s. She loved scratch off’s, fishing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Dommy Rodrigues, Sr., of Brunswick; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Rodrigues (Brenda) of Waverly, GA., Dommy Rodrigues, Jr., of Waynesville, GA.; 3 daughters and their spouses, Maria A. Rodrigues of Waynesville, Clara Burgess (Timothy), of Brunswick, Deborah Anna Loper (Troy) of Brunswick; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and spouses, Bertha Forbes of Medford, Oregan, Alice B. Lane of Greenville, S.C., and Bessie Anderson (Butch) of Formoso, Kansas; 3 brothers and their spouses, Ottis Boatwright (Emma Jean) of Hortense, Harry Boatwright, of Hortense, and Thomas Boatwright (Rosa) of Townsend, GA. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (March 14, 2017) starting 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning (March 15, 2017) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Harris officiating.

Burial will follow at Satilla Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Rodrigues, Phillip Rodrigues, Winston Anderson, Eric Loper, Shawn Gillian, and Jared Rodrigues.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
