Eugene Kermit Crews, Sr.

Nahunta- Eugene "Kermit" Crews, Sr. 72, of Nahunta died early Friday morning (March 174, 2014) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA his parents were Plen and Irene Hickox Crews. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Crews Kelly and a brother-in-law, Bobby Warren. Kermit was a heavy equipment operator for Brunswick Pulp and Paper and of the Baptist faith. He also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and cooking. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Ruth Crews of Nahunta; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David & Hailey Garrett of Nahunta and Gene & Denise Crews of Hoboken; a daughter, Tina Spalding Cook of Paris, MI; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Cassie Cook(Erin), Derek Cook(Rebecca) and Justin Cook all of MI, Brittany Gambino(David) of Leesburg, GA, David Nathaniel Garrett of Hoboken and Levi Garrett of Nahunta; 3 great grandchildren, Tymber Gambino, Tatum Gambino, Kassadin Cook, Anna Ve Cook and Kirea Warner; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim Crews of Hoboken, Ben & Jill Crews of NC, and Gary & Cheryl Crews of Nahunta; a sister, Kathy Warren of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Satilla Hospice, 808 Evergreen Rd Waycross, GA 31501. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
