Eugene Talmadge Jones

Eugene "Talmadge" Jones, 79, of Richmond Hill died early Wednesday morning (September 4, 2013) at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA his parents were Robert and Elizabeth O'Quinn Jones. He is also preceded in death by 5 brothers, W.R., Calvin, Johnny, Cecil and Jim Jones; and 3 sisters, Inez Harris, Cathlaeen Smith and Geneva Herald. Talmadge was a heavy equipment operator for DM Jones Construction and loved working on houses with his son and fishing. Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, William & Debra Jones of Savannah, GA, Freddie & Elaine Jones of Guyton, GA and Dennis & Vera Jones of Rincon, GA; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Jim Sanford of Guyton, GA , Vicky & Raymond Cooler of Guyton, GA and Sharon & Richard Kennedy of Pembroke; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon (September 6, 2013) from 12-1PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (September 6, 2013) at 1PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Kenny Jones, Kyle Jones, Mitchel Jones, Keith Shabi, David Smith and James Sanford. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
