Evelyn Lee Keen

Nahunta-Evelyn Sabra Lee Keen,74, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, Colonel Brantley Keen "C.B.", along with her parents, Randle Ephraim and Lois Hale Lee, one son, Ephraim Brantley Keen, 2-Grandsons, Jeff Brantley Keen and Aaron Moses Oglesby. Evelyn worked various jobs outside the home as well as being a farmer, homemaker and mother of seven children. She loved babies, growing flowers, crocheting and fishing. Survivors include six children and their spouses, Sabra and Charles Harris, of Hoboken, GA., Robert Keen, of San Juan Capistrano, CA., Dale Ann and Joey Spaulding, of Jacksonville, FL., Ocie and Dale Oglesby, of Nahunta, GA., Jackie Lee Keen, of Nahunta, GA. And Darl and Jayne Keen, of Nahunta, GA. 15-Grandchildren, 11-Great-Grandchildren, 2-Brothers and Sisters-in-law, George and Gertrude Lee, Aley and Myrle Lee, A Sister, Mildred Ingram, of Nahunta, and Sister-in-law, Myrtle (Tim) Hickox, Sr., of Hoboken also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. A graveside service was held Monday morning (Aug. 15, 2011) at 10 A.M. from the Bethlehem Cemetery in Hickox with Rev. Jerry Johns and Rev. Dennis Hickox officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were her 7- Granddaughters, Nancy White, Caryn Lee, April Brazzell, Kristina Keen, GSEFN Stacy Oglesby, Amber Oglesby and Maegan Oglesby. In Lieu of flowers please donate in her honor to The Southside Baptist Church, 550 School St., Nahunta, Georgia 31553. Frye Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
