Evelyn Ruth Drury

Evelyn Ruth Elrod Drury, 64, of Patterson, GA died Wednesday evening (April 1, 2009) at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick following a lengthy illness. Born in Marshall Co., AL, her parents were William Jefferson and Lula Bell Stevens Elrod. She is also, preceded in death by her husband, Orville Dwight Drury, Sr. and a brother, Arnold Jefferson Elrod. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Evelyn loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed living by the river, where she spent many hours with family and friends. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-laws, Deborah and Gary Andrews of Patterson, and Linda and Dave Manning of Hortense, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Orville Drury, Jr. and Wendy of Blackshear; 4 Grandchildren, Gary E. Andrews, Jr., Hanna Drury, Joshua and J.P. Manning; a sister, Minnie Lou Elrod and a brother, Joe Earl Elrod both of Albertville, AL; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will start at 7 p.m. Friday night at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon (April 4, 2009) at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta, GA. with Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Burial will followed in Drury Cemetery, Hortense. Pallbearers will be Ronald Wylie, Winston Drury, Jr., Richard Drury, Ben Duggan, Winston Drury, Sr. and Jerry DeWeese.
