Faith Gibson

Hortense- Faith Sweat Gibson, 78 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday (March 5, 2019) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL., her parents were Leon Allen Sweat and Merle Howe Sweat. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Crystle Holland; and three brothers, Cyril Sweat, Neil Sweat, and Don Sweat.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Gibson, of Hortense; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Dwayne Gibson (Mollie), of Waynesville, Tracy Allen Gibson (Tina), of Hortense; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Denise Head (James), of Waverly; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Gibson (Brittany), Dena Morgan, Sara Tillman (Marqus), Ashley Gibson, Mara Gibson, Adam Head, and Abby Head; 9 great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Conrad “Sonny” Sweat (Nancy), of Delphi IN., Clinton Sweat (Joan), of Waynesville, and Beryl Sweat (Darlene), of Hortense; and her sister, Elaine Faulk, of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday (March 6, 2019) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning (March 7, 2019) at 11AM at Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Carr officiating.

Burial will follow in Whittaker Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Waynesville Baptist Church Food Bank; P.O. Box 160 Waynesville GA 31566.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Church by 10:30AM Thursday.
