Fay Sumner Bratcher

Nahunta-Fay Sumner Bratcher, 66 of Nahunta, passed away late Saturday night (March 18, 2017) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga. following an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, Fl., her parents were Jessie Floyd Sumner and Thelma Baldre Sumner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tynan Bratcher; a grandson, Bo Stegall; a Step-Son, Glynn Bratcher; 3 Brothers, James Sumner, Dean Sumner, and Frank Sumner; 3 Sisters, Diane LaMontanege, Josie Beaver, and Marie Crosby.

She was of the Baptist Faith, her hobbies were color painting, working in her flowers, cooking and she loved her pets.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Timmy Bratcher (Lavonne), of Douglas, 2 daughters, and a son-in-law, Cassie Stegall, of Nahunta, Angie Taylor (Billy), of Alma, 3 grandchildren, Heather Foster and Stetson Stegall both of Nahunta, Chelsea Cook of Douglas, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray Sumner, of Waynesville, Bill Sumner (Debra), of Atkinson; 3 sisters, Carlis Sumner, of Nahunta, Jean Vann, of Brunswick, Martha Engle, of Covington, Ga. A very special friend, Ms. Rose. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, (March 21, 2017) from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, (March 21, 2017) at 11:00AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta with Rev. Mike Yawn and Rev. Tim Rowell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Levi Johns, Tyler Johns, Buckie Roberson, J.D. Moody, Michael Ray Sumner, Stetson Stegall, Chris Roberson, and B.J. Sumner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wilton Crosby, Denise Nay, and Jessie Sumner.

The family will be meeting at the home of Stetson Stegall 207 Florida Ave. Nahunta, Ga.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
