Hoboken- Florence Geraldine Roberson Corbitt Edwards, 77 of Hoboken, passed away Saturday (July 17, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health, in Waycross.
Born in Racepond, GA., her parents were James Emmitt Roberson and Mildred Viola Wilson Roberson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin Earl Corbitt; second husband, James Revis Edwards; her son, Richard Ashby; 6 grandchildren, Ricky, Chris, and Stacy Ashby, Adam Larson, Franklin Crews, and Jamie Carmichael; 4 brothers, Jackie Roberson, J.R. Wilson, Sammy Roberson, and Franklin Roberson; 2 sisters, Delores King and Paulette Morgan.
Geraldine worked many years as an Office Manager for Nicholls Construction. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting, and loved her family and her Church family.
Survivors include her 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Julian Earl Corbitt (Sandy), of Waycross, Jimmy D. Corbitt, Sr., also of Waycross, James Edwards, of Folkston, Randy Edwards (Judy), of Hoboken, and J.W. Edwards (Lynn), of Nahunta; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Sue Chancey, of Folkston, Bobbie Jean Carmichael (Allen), of Dawson, GA, Shirley Thornton (Ted), of Screven, Rosa Dubose (Darrell), of Florida Villages, FL., Sharon Ashby (Dave), of St. Cloud, FL.; 33 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 28 great great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gene Roberson (Doris), of Waycross; sister and brother-in-law, Janice Dowling (Virgil), of Hoboken. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday (July 20, 2021) at 3PM with Rev. Randall Gunter and Rev. Allen Carmichael officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, starting at 2PM, at the Church.
Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Roberson, Frank Roberson, Sammy Gene Dowling, Adam Carmichael, Bo Petty, and Wesley Herrin.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
