Florence 'Kay' Kathryn Dawson

June 26, 1945 — July 10, 2018

Nahunta- Florence Kathryn “Kay” Dawson, 73 of Nahunta, passed away late Tuesday evening (July 10, 2018) at her residence following an extended illness.

Her parents were Clyde Hancock and Marilu Bivin Meredith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Highsmith; her stepmother, Ruth Hancock; and her stepfather, Charles Meredith.

Mrs. Florence was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved her puppy, arranging flowers, and playing words with friends.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck Lebar (Sherry), of Nahunta; her daughter and son-in-law, Missy Haynes (Mark), of Nahunta; 4 grandchildren, Kassie Graham, Chris Lebar, Cody Haynes, and Matthew Haynes; 4 great grandchildren, Emily Peeples, Addyson Lebar, Katie Cammon, and Layla Lebar; her sister and brother-in-law, LuAnn James (Don), of Elgin, TX. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (July 13, 2018) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning (July 14, 2018) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Giddens officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Haynes, Matthew Haynes, Chris Lebar, Paul Cammon, Donny James, and Daryl Hand.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home by 10:30AM Saturday.

Family will be receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Florence; 87 Stephen Park Rd. Nahunta, GA 31553.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
