Florence Stewart Wainright

Florence Eleanor Stewart Wainright, 85 of Nahunta, passed away Monday afternoon (October 31, 2016) at Pierce County Nursing Home in Blackshear following an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA., her parents were Alfred Stewart and Maude Griffin Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Jim” Wainright; four sisters, Joyce Miller, Rosa O’Neal, Betty Davis, and Dorothy Kirkdorffer; and two brothers, David Stewart, and James “Billy” Stewart.

Florence was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, and worked many years as a CNA before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and taking care of people.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. James C. and Mona Jean Wainright, of Nahunta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and J.D. Turner, of Nahunta, Angie and Ted Williams, of Statesboro, GA.; 8 grandchildren, Gene Wainright, Tony Wainright, both of Nahunta, Loretta and Jeffory Lee, of Nichols, GA, Jess Turner, Jed Turner, Geri and Jack Kelley, of Marietta, Ross Williams, and Rachel Williams; and 8 great-grandchildren, Gage Lee, Bryce Lee, Destiny Curry, Seth Wainright, Saxon Wainright, Ansley Turner, Star Wainright, and Noah Wainright; one brother and sister-in-law, John Stewart (Judy), of Marietta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (November 3, 2016) starting at 6PM, at the residence of Rev. James and Mona Jean Wainright; 488 Thrift Loop Nahunta, GA. 31553.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon (November 4, 2016) at 1PM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. James C. Wainright and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gene Wainright, Tony Wainright, Seth Wainright, Jess Turner, Ross Williams, and Gene O’Neal.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
