Floyd Eugene "Bouncer" Dowling 82 of Hoboken, GA died early Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2009) morning at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah. Born in Brantley Co, GA, his parents were James Newton and Caroline Elizabeth Hancey Dowling. He is also, preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Lawton, Leroy, Willie, Eva and Mable. He worked with Seaboard Construction as a Heavy Equipment operator. He was a member of Mayplace Hunting Club and Pierce Co Hunting Club. He loved to hunt, fish and tap dance. He was a member of Hoboken Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Mary Evelyn Redding Dowling of Hoboken, Ga; a Daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn E. and Chuck Phillips of Walker Co, TN; 3 Sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil and Janice Dowling of Hoboken, GA, Marvin Dowling of Orlando, FL and Jimmy and Tina Dowling of Hoboken; 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Ruby Roberts of Oak Hill, FL and Mayo Gillis of Hoboken, GA; a Brother and sister-in-law, William Cecil and Jackie Dowling of Savannah, GA; 2 Step-children, Madres Griffin of Las Vegas and James Griffin of Texas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday evening starting 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home (formerly Chambless-Frye) Nahunta. Graveside services will be Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Hoboken Cemetery with Rev.
