Floyd T. Broughton

Waynesville-Floyd Thomas "Tommy" Broughton, 76 of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday (May 5, 2015) at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Pineville, KY., his parents were Floyd Thomas Broughton and Callie Frances Carr Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margeret Howard. Tommy worked many years as a Brick Mason. He was of the Baptist Faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen Broughton; a son and daughter-in-law, Kirk Broughton (Aundrea); a daughter, Teresa Broughton McKinney; and 3 grandchildren, Brandy Johns, Aaron McKinney, and Kayla Broughton, all of Waynesville; 2 sisters, Midge Kinchen and Ann Steele, both of Brunswick; and 1 brother, Paul Taylor, also of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday (May 7, 2015) at 11AM at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Rev. Timmy Hall officiating. Pallbearers will be Lorin Clark, Aaron McKinney, Ricky Nichols, Brad Kinchen, Stephen Kinchen, and Tristen Kinchen. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the cemetery Thursday by 10:45AM.
