Frances Mae Carter

Nahunta- Mae Frances Carter, 66, of Nahunta died Saturday afternoon (June 28, 2014) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Sim & Irene Crews. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carter and several brothers and sisters. Mae was a homemaker and a member of Nahunta Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her church family, being outside and just life in general. Survivors include 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene & Diane Carter of Raybon, Leon & Nikki Carter of Hoboken, Adam & Bambi Carter of Hickox, and Keith & Anna Durrence of Waynesville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa & Donnie Leverett of Nahunta and Shannon & Stacy Walker of Hoboken; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Neil & Vivian Crews of Hoboken; her cat, Tom (aka Daddy); and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (July1, 2014) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon (July 2, 2014) at 1PM at Nahunta Church of God with Rev. Charles Florey officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eugene Carter, Stacy Walker, Adam Carter, Donnie Leverett, Leon Carter and Colt Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Hawk Carter and Luke Pittman.
