'Francis' Jerome Roberson

Waynesville-Francis Jerome Roberson, 80, of Waynesville, passed away early Sunday morning (September 1, 2013) after a brief illness. Born in Hortense, GA his parents were Milton and Edith Luella McGraw Roberson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Jacobs Roberson, and 4 brothers, Edgar, James, Demory, and David Roberson. Francis was a member of Sawgrass Wesleyan Methodist Church. He was retired from B&W after 32 yrs. and was a member of Boilermakers Blacksmith Union. Also he loved fishing, welding, and outdoors and was dearly loved by his family and most of all his grandchildren who he was known as "Papa Rabbit" to them and he will be truly missed by all. He is survived by 2 Daughters and their spouses, Judy and Larry Brockington of Hortense and Nancy and Buddy Jones of Brunswick; 4 Grandchildren, Chrissy Goodbread, Jennifer Jones, Rebecca Jones, and Jerome Head; 8 Great Grandchildren, Chelsea Bazemore, Jena Haffy, Carlee Smith, Morgan Goodbread, Ryan Goodbread, Cody Goodbread, Dalton Head, and Austin Head; 1 Great Great Grandchild, Avah Bazemore; 4 Brothers and their spouses, Charles Roberson of Fitzgerald, Emory and Novis Roberson of Hortense, Robert and Elizabeth Roberson of Hemp Hill, TX., and Daniel Roberson of Waynesville, GA.; 1 Sister and her spouse, Ruth and Bud Jones of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening (September 3, 2013)starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (September 4, 2013) at 11 AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daryl Davison, Rev. Owen "Bud" Jones, and Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Jones, Gary Jones, Josh Roberson, Andy Roberson, Jimmy Goodbread, and Michael Roberson.
