Waynesville-Franklin "Frank" Lahman Ward, 89 of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday morning (June 12, 2012) at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross. Born in Decatur, Illinois, his parents were Charles Franklin and Cora Mae Enlow Ward. He is also preceded in death by 2 sons, Thomas Ward, and James Franklin Ward. Frank was a member of the First Methodist Church in Nahunta. He worked as a self-employed Gunsmith who built cannons, and served in the Army. Frank built bird houses, pin hole, cameras, Sterioptic viewers, and furniture. Also he was a published author who wrote ghost stories and lymerics. He was a civil war enactor. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Eugenia Grubaugh Ward, of Waynesville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John "Scott" and Jane Ward, of Little America, Illinois, David and Veola Ward, of Brunswick; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tom Charron, of Waynesville; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and a few special friends, Charles and Theresa Churchill, of Hortense, Cheryl and Charles Turner, of Jesup, Caren and Jack, of Locksey, AL, and Charlie and Victoria Churchill, of Statesboro. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home.
