Fred 'Lamar' Drury

Fred "Lamar" Drury, 61 of Nahunta, died Saturday morning (April 12, 2014) in McCrae, GA. from injuries received in a boating accident. Born in Brunswick, GA., his parents are Betty Jane Chapman Drury and the late Fred Fulton Drury, Jr. Lamar worked as a self-employed painter and was of the Methodist Faith. He loved hunting, fishing, horses, farming, cooking, and barbequing. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Drury, of Nahunta; 4 daughters, Connie Lee Mobley, of White Oak, Carrie Jean Drury, of Nahunta, Katlynn Marie "Katie" Drury, of Nahunta; Mary Elizabeth "Mary Beth" Drury, of Nahunta; 2 grandchildren, Kristin Mobley and Christopher Michael Mobley, both of White Oak; his mother, Betty Jane Chapman Drury, of White Oak; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn Drury (Cathy), and Randy Drury (Joy), all of White Oak; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Vonda Kay Strickland (Greg), of White Oak, and Melodie Goble (Ricky), of White Oak; his mother-in-law, Ruth McLeod (Wayne), of Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Joey Carter (Amy), of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, April Lee, of Waynesville; and brother-in-law, Joshua McLeod (Kristen), of Waynesville. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (April 15, 2014) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday morning (April 16, 2014) at 11AM at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Elliott Foss and Rev. Rodney Pierce officiating. Pallbearers will be Ricky Hall, Paul Thomas, Bo Hamilton, Cloed Bloser, Ricky Goble Jr., and Colte Shaske. The family asks that all pallbearers meet at the funeral home Wednesday morning by 9:30 AM.
