Nahunta – Garland “Junior” Parker, Jr., 67, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday (December 10, 2019) at Harborview Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.

Born in Norfolk, VA his parents are Aline Grimsley Highsmith and the late Garland Parker, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jones Parker; and a brother, Robert Parker.

Junior was a roofer and enjoyed fishing and watching TV especially football.

Survivors include 2 sons, Jonathan Chapel and Adam Parker; a daughter, Kathy Ann Parker; his mother and stepfather, Aline & Charles Highsmith of Nahunta; 6 siblings and their spouses, Dorothy Deschenes (Gator), of Nahunta, Rita Pasanen (Bobby) of Nahunta, Billy Parker of Nahunta, Ann Gee (Bobby) of Nahunta, and Joyce Walker of Fernandina Beach, FL., Helmi Fredrico (Tony) of Yulee, Fl.; 3 step siblings and their spouses, William Highsmith (Kimberly) of Waycross, Megan Highsmith of Waycross, and Victoria Wilson (Wes) of Lake City, FL; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday (December 12, 2019) starting at 1PM at New Hope Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon (December 12, 2019) at 2PM at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Paul Rhoden officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
