Gary White

Gary Arel White, 59 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday morning (August 5, 2014) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross GA following a brief illness. Born in Douglas, GA., his parents were Joseph Arel and Evelyn Burch White. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Lawrence Flowers and a great nephew, Rocky Flowers, Jr. Gary was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served in the United States Army and worked many years as a Federal Meat Inspector. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mandi Hursey and Dana Thomas, both of Darien; 6 grandchildren, Cheltsie Young, A.C. Young, Kaylee Young, Bryson Moody, Dylan Peffer, and Austin Peffer; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Thrift (Ronald), of Hortense, Debra Davis (Ricky), of Hilliard, Gloria Davison (Jerry),of Hortense, and Shirley Flowers, of Hortense; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne White (Magdelin), of Douglas. Also numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a local charity. No services will be held at this time.
