George Rogers

Patterson-George Robert Rogers, 62 of Patterson, passed away Monday (March 24, 2014) at the Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Baltimore, MD., his parents were Robert Franklin and Reba Roberson Rogers. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, David and Terry Rogers. George worked many years as a truck driver for Great Wide Trucking, and attended Taylor Church. He enjoyed fishing, driving his truck, and loved his dog. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Rogers (Kimberly), of Glynn St. Mary's, FL, Chris Rogers (Tatum), of Nahunta, and a step-son and daughter-in-law, William Green (Lynn) Sanderson, FL.; a step-daughter, Christina Green, of Mclenny, FL; 7 grandchildren, Drew Rogers, Gwyn Rogers, Mylee Rogers, Sarah Green, Anna Green, Josh Dialo, and Marcus Dialo; 2 brothers, Roy Rogers, of Hopewell, VA; Franklin Rogers, of Chesterfield, VA; 2 sisters, Patsy Starke and Peggy Newton, both of Chesterfield, VA. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (March 29, 2014) at 1PM at Taylor Church, in Taylor Fl. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
