Gerald Issac Morgan

Nahunta – Gerald Issac Morgan, 96, of Nahunta passed away Friday morning (February 2, 2024) at Hospice of the Golden Isles after an extended illness.

Born in Georgia his parents were Issac Eugene Morgan and Maude Lyons Morgan. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Gay Morgan; 7 brothers, Donald Morgan, Jesse Morgan, William Morgan, Charles Hugh Morgan, Eldon Morgan, Arnie Morgan, and Kenny Morgan; and a sister, Hester Mae Dowling.

Gerald worked for Warner Robins Air Force Base for many years. He loved working in his yard and tending to animals, especially his chickens.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Issac “Jerry” Morgan, Jr. (Lee) of Warner Robins and Stephen “Steve” Eugene Morgan (Jill) of Lizella; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Janie McDade (Tom) of Milledgeville, Toni Yvonne Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK, Phyllis Gay Gilbert of Bryon, Nicole Gibson (Bruce) of Lake City, FL and Chrystal Lee Morgan of Macon; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a brother, Lannis Morgan of Atkinson; a sister, Rita Lewis of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service on Wednesday morning (February 7, 2024) starting at 10:30am at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (February 7, 2024) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
