Nahunta – Gloria A. Davis Howland, 81, of Nahunta passed away Sunday afternoon (December 9, 2018) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Laconia, NH her parents were Lewis Davis and Elizabeth Chase Seeley. She is also preceded in death by 2 children, Roy Howland, Jr. and Joanne Howland; a grandson, Roy Eagan; a son-in-love, Michael Durden; and 2 brothers, David Davis and Lewis Davis.
Gloria was a retired bus driver and attended Hickox Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and best friend who was the foundation and backbone of her family. She fiercely defended and proudly protected all whom she loved. Gloria was a courageous warrior who fought many battles in her lifetime. She also loved going to the Brantley Co. Senior Center, playing on the computer, Cribbage, fishing, cooking, crafting, and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Howland of Nahunta; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Howland, II of Nahunta, Maurice Howland (Sue) of Littleton, NH, and Oscar Howland, Sr.(Patricia) of Nahunta; 3 daughters, Betty Durden of Nahunta, Tina Corrigan of Nahunta, and Holly McIntyre of Daytona Beach, FL; 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Seeley of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation will be held Wednesday (December 12, 2018) from 6PM -8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
