Gloria Elaine Harrell

Hortense – Mrs. Gloria “Elaine” Harrell , 68 passed away Sunday morning April 2, 2017) at her residence following a brief illness.

Born in Anniston, Alabama , her parents were Richard Robert and Beaulah Pointer Shears. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Douglas Shears and Charles Shears, 1 sister, Doris Hayes.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Philadelphia Wesleyan Church. She loved gardening, painting, cooking, and playing the piano.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Charles Harrell, of Hortense; 1 daughter and a son-in-law, Kelley Tegan (Jason), 3 grandchildren, Reshma Tegen, Levi Tegan, and Lerah Tegan; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Tony Shears (Tina), of Munford, Al.; 1 sister and brother-n-law, Kathleen Goodwin (Richard), of Anniston, Al. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday (April 6, 2017) from 10AM-11:AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Thursday (April 6, 2017) at 11:00AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home,

Nahunta with Rev. Sheldon Rowell, Sr., Rev. Tim Johnson, and Rev. Jason Tegen officiating.

Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Pace, Wesley Deverger, Sheldon Rowell, Jr., Paul Harrell, Jim Leary, and Tristan Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Philadelphia Missionary Ladies.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
