Gloria Sheppard Johns

Gloria Sheppard Johns, 62 of Hortense passed away Sunday (September 29, 2024) at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness. 

Born in Brunswick, GA., her parents were Jack Dan “J.D.” Sheppard and Verdie Lee Warner Sheppard. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Joshua Ben Sheppard.

Gloria was a homemaker who loved anything outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, cleaning, fishing and going to the river. Gloria also enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her animals.

Survivors include her two daughters, Brandy Renee Willis Dixon and Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Willis, both of Nahunta; three grandchildren, Tessa C. Dixon, Sage M. Dixon and Harlee R. Willis; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack “Danny” Dan Sheppard (Tammy), of Hortense, Benjamin Cliff Sheppard (Angela), of Waynesville; and a sister, Gail Ella Sheppard Moore, of Waynesville; 5 nieces and nephews, Leeanna Moore, Jacob Sheppard (Taylor), Jacqueline Stone (Brock), Brandon Sheppard (Britannii), Jeremy Sheppard (Katie). Also several other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday (October 3, 2024) from 1030AM-11AM at Warner-Ammons Cemetery.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday (October 3, 2024) at 11AM at Warners-Ammons Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hendrix officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
