Goldie Mae Benassi

Augusta – Goldie Mae Crews Benassi, 71, of Augusta passed away Sunday night (November 26, 2023) at Pruitt Health Augusta Hills in Augusta, GA. following an extended illness.

Born in Folkston, GA. her parents were William Oscar Crews and Leona Jacobs Crews. She is also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Wayne Benassi; 4 brothers, William Delbert Crews, Charles David Crews, Bobby Way Crews, and Ronald Lee Crews; 2 sisters, Darlene Crews and Lorna Gail Marr. Goldie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening and baking.

Survivors include 1 son, Ronald Cleve Benassi, II of Crawfordsville, In.; 4 grandchildren, Justin Benassi, Samantha Benassi, Nicole Benassi, and Dakota Benassi; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Horace Crews (Veronica) of Augusta, GA., Michael Wade Marr, Sr. of Folkston; 1 sister, Margie Crews Spence of Augusta, GA.;also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (November 29, 2023) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A graveside service will be held Thursday (November 30, 2023) at 11AM New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Knox officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Crews, David Spence, Joseph Marr, Phillip Marr, Ben Marr, and Ben Wheeler.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta, GA.
