Gordon Albert Mitchell,Sr.

Mr. Gordon Albert Mitchell, Sr., 77, of Angola, Indiana, passed away Sunday (July 30,2017) at The Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Angola, IN after an extended illness.

Born in Angola, Indiana he was the son of Gordon and Laura Virginia Ferguson Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Mitchell.

Mr. Gordon loved his family and spending time with them, he also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 38 years as a welder.

Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon A. Mitchell, Jr. and Leisa, Vance and Donna Mitchell and Dennis A. Mitchell, all of Waynesville, GA., 14-grandchildren, Cristina Box, Blair Lyons, Rachael Dowell, Tristian Mitchell, Dennis A. Mitchell, II, Abigale Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell and Riley Mitchell, Jayme Fender Hall, Christina Trussell, Amanda Lewis, William McNeely, Carey McNeely, and Julie Manning, 19-great grandchildren, a sister, Rosalle Dale Hall, of Angola, IN., also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning (August 19, 2017) at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating.
