Grady Edward Boyd

Mr. Grady Edward Boyd, 93 of Nahunta, passed away Thursday (January 7, 2016) at Bayview Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

Born in McRae, GA., his parents were Daniel Ellis Boyd and Ida Powell Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Rowell Boyd; his son, Edward Wayne Boyd; 2 brothers, Ellis Boyd and Ernest Boyd; 3 sisters, Inez Powell, Essie Mae Harper, Kertis Dean.

Mr. Boyd was a member of Lulaton Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon for over 50 years and song leader. He worked as a truckdriver, and was a member of the Masons.

He is survived by a step son and his family, Greg Roberson of Alma; a step daughter and her family, Nedra Sealy of Siera Vista, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday (January 9, 2016) at 11AM at Lulaton Baptist Church with Rev. Monroe Gill and Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.

The Nahunta Masons will serve as pallbearers.
