Gregory Darryl Moore

Nahunta – Gregory “Darryl” Moore, 61, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday evening (August 13, 2024) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents were James Charles Moore and Laura Gail Walker Moore. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jasper & Grace Moore; maternal grandparents, James & Leola Walker; and a niece, Ashley Griffin.

Darryl was a security officer of Southeast Georgia Health System and coached rec basketball and softball. He loved spending time with his family, playing sports and cooking.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Moore of Nahunta; a son, Joseph Tyler Moore of Waynesville; 3 daughters, Abbie Cox, Laura Moore and Alley Moore both of Nahunta; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Shane Moore (Sandie) of Nahunta, Jeff Moore (Becky) of TX and Jerry Moore (Tiffany) of Brunswick; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Missy Henderson (Darryl) of Nahunta and Cindy Altman (Wayne) of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (August 16, 2024) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (August 17, 2024) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Chuck Allen officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Moore, Sammy Hendrix, Derek Roberson, Terry Lee, Austin Altman and Cameron Moore.

The family will be receiving family and friends at 154 Avalon St. Nahunta, GA 31553.
