Gretchen Hartwig Harrell

Nahunta-Mrs. Gretchen Hartwig Harrell, 87, of Nahunta, passed away Saturday afternoon (Oct. 13,2012) in The Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus following an extended illness. Born in Shelby, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Arthur Robert and Ruth Morgan Hartwig. Also preceded in death by her husband James Kenneth Harris and a Granddaughter, Katie Lynn Bailey, 3 brothers, Vernon, Adolph, and Wayne Hartwig, 1 sister, Gertrude Smith. Mrs. Gretchen was a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church and retired from Brantley County Health Department as an LPN. She loved playing bingo and dominoes but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Gretchen is survived by 4-children and their spouses, Richard Rhoden (Debry) of Nahunta, Deborah Manning (Slaton) , Janice Bailey (Joe) both of Jesup., Kathy Moody (Danny) of Nahunta. 7-Grandchildren and their spouses, Ashton Rhoden (Catherine), Della Ellis (John), Chance Rhoden (Jennifer) Chris Manning (Karla), Joe Bailey, Kim Kennedy (Ronnie), and Chad Bailey (Ciara)., 13 Great Grandchildren, Mikey, Hunter, Gage, Brayden, and Bryson Rhoden, Jarrod, Kelci, and Jace Manning, Lee, Cole, Josie, Luke, and Brileigh Bailey. A sister, Bertha Rhoden, of Nahunta, Brother-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Harris and a sister-in-law, Ina Mae Hartwig, both of Nahunta. Also several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives. And a host of friends. Visitation will be Monday evening starting at 6 PM at the Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Services will be held Tuesday morning (Oct. 16,2012) at 11 Am from Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Rob Lewis Cemetery, Raybon. Pallbearers will be Jarrod Manning, Chad Bailey, Ronnie Kennedy, Chance Rhoden, Chris Manning, and Tony Rhoden .
