Guadalupe Zayas

Hortense – Guadalupe Zayas, 71, of Hortense passed away Thursday morning (June 3, 2021) at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup after an extended illness.

Born in Dinuba, CA her parents were Ernest Zayas and Esther Velasco Zayas. She is also preceded in death by a son, Jaoquine Torres; a brother, Robert Zayas; and 2 sisters, Josephine Zayas and Anita Vera Zayas.

Guadalupe was a CNA for many years and attended The Foundation Church. She loved going to the Senior Citizen Center, the Senior Dances, gardening and loved all the animals in her yard.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Torres (Linda Ann) of CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Alisa Simmerman (Brian) of Hortense; 3 grandchildren, Breezey Simmerman, James Ross and Anthony Torres; 2 step grandchildren, Brianna Simmerman and Blake Simmerman; 3 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Ernest Zayas, Jr., Carlos Zayas, Richard Zayas, Ruben Zayas, and Joey Zayas; 3 sisters, Rosie Gutierrez, Stella Zayas and Terry Zayas; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
