Harold Troy Moore

Hortense- Harold Troy Moore, 75 of Hortense, passed away Sunday ( September 23, 2012) at Southeast Georgia Health System following an extended illness. Born in Ellijay, GA., his parents were Grady William and Laura Velma Watkins Moore. He is also preceded in death by 2 children, Joey and Genevie Moore; 3 brothers, Henry, Rufus, and Rowland Moore, and 4 sisters, Mary Laverne Moore, Ovalene Rogers, Maybelline Norman, and Irene Norman. Harold was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsland. He was an avid hog, deer, and coon hunter and enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. Harold was retired from the King's Bay Naval Base as a Safety Specialist and served in The United States Air Force. Survivors include, his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Joann Dixon Moore, of Hortense; 5 children and their spouses, Marjorie (Mike) Carver, of Hortense, Polly (Lee) Reynolds, of Mocksville, NC, Marcus Moore, of Thomaston, GA, Luke (Laura) Moore, also of Thomaston, GA, and Renee Moore, of Cullman, Alabama, 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad ( Danielle) Carver, Matthew ( Casey) Carver, Dylan (Sarah) Reynolds, Allyson (Andrew) Sanders, Chelsea ( Cody) England, Brock Reynolds, Leanna Moore, Josh Herrin, Haley (Blake) Green, Lucas Moore, and Dakoda Warner; 13 great grandchildren, Fisher, Elle, and Abbe Carver, Landon, Lydia, and Layla Carver, Lakyn Reynolds, Ayden, Easton, and Landyn Sanders, Alexis and MaKayla Moore, and Tucker Green; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Preston (Shane) Moore, of Bountiful, UT, Roy (Barbara) Moore, of Kingsland, and Dennis (Henrietta) Moore; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel (Don) Halls, of Pensacola, FL, and Geraldine (Mike) McKendree, of Kingsland, GA. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening ( September 25, 2012) from 6PM-8PM, at the residence 263 Tabernacle Rd. Hortense,GA. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday morning ( September 26, 2012) at 11AM, from The Bristol Baptist Church in Bristol, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Carver, Matthew Carver, Dylan Reynolds, Brock Reynolds, Josh Herrin, Lucas Moore, and Dakoda Warner. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
