Hortense- Harry Marvin Crews ,91, of Hortense, passed away Thursday morning (December 28, 2017) at Hospice of the Golden Isles of Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Hoboken, GA his parents were the late Charlie C. and Mary Emmeline Lee Crews. He was also preceded by his wife Helen Lane Crews, 1 son, Harry Marvin Crews, Jr., 1 daughter, Cynthia Mary Crews, and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Harry worked as a chef and manager for many years at numerous restaurants and was a member of Atkinson Baptist Church. He loved fishing, farming, and cooking. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include 1 son, William Joseph “Jody” Crews of Hortense, 3 Grandchildren, Kristina Montgomery, Timothy Ashton Davis, and Helena Davis Herrin all of Hortense. 4 Great Grandchildren, Calen Raulerson of Nahunta, Michael Landon Montgomery of Hoboken, Keilan and Kylan Dixon both of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday night (December 30,2017) starting at 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A graveside service will be held Sunday afternoon (December 31,2017) at 2 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Emory Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Harry Lee, Ashton Davis, Danny Crews, Tommy Crews, Alan Lane, and John Herrin.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
