Harry Walter Pearson

Nahunta-Mr. Harry Walter Pearson, 86, of Nahunta died early Monday morning (November 14, 2011) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Screven, Ga., his parents were William A. & Eula Morgan Pearson. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Pearson, and a sister, Juanita Goldman. Harry was a 20 year retired veteran in the United States Army who also served in WW II. He was an active member of the Hickox Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Herrin Pearson of Nahunta; 2 sons, Mitchell Pearson & Mark Pearson both of Freemont, California; 3 daughters & a son-in-law, Sandra Rauh of Austin, Texas, Janet &Steve Morello of San Mateo, California, & Diane & Steve Johnpeer of Gansevoort, New York; 1 step daughter & her spouse, Norma & Dewayne Butler of Jacksonville, FL.; 16 grandchildren & their spouses, Stefanie & Ken Diashyn, Gerald Morello, Anthony & Katie Morello,Matthew Morello, Traci Lewis, Brianne McFadden, Tony Rauh, Ben & Sandi Rauh, Shannon Rauh, Robin & Greg Adams, Roxanne Owens, Rocky, L.A., Andy, Lindsay, & Nick Williams; 3 step grandchildren & their spouses, Kris & Bob Scott, Karen & Marshall Butler, & Hope & Jesse Sites; 12 great grandchildren & 5 step great grandchildren; 1 brother & a sister-in-law, William & Maxine Pearson of Savannah; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (November 17, 2011) starting at 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday morning (November 18, 2011) at the Hickox Baptist Church at 11 AM with Rev. Vance Colley and Dr. Darrell Rentz officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Nahunta, GA. Pallbearers will be Bob Scott, Marshall Butler, Jesse Sites, Larry Johns, Steve Morella, & Sheldon Crews.
