Kingsland-Harvey Elmer Johns, 72, of Kingsland, passed away Friday afternoon (November 22, 2013) at his residence, following an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA. His parents were the late Perry Johns, Sr. and Mattie Moore Johns. He is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Horace, Jerry, and Earl Johns. 1 sister, Remonia Johns. He was a member of The Kingsland Baptist Church. Harvey worked with The Gilman Paper Company as a press operator before his health failed him, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and just loved the outdoors. Survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Georgia "Susie" Harris Johns, of Kingsland, 3-daughters and sons-in-law, Marion and Alan Strickland, Denise & Randy Rowell and Missy and Robbie Cleland, all of Nahunta, GA., and a very special daughter of the home, Cocoa Johns, 2-brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivey and Gail Johns, of Nahunta, GA. and Bo and Janet Johns, of Woodbine, GA., a sister, Louise Harris, of Hoboken, GA., 6-Grandchildren, Brandon, Jamie and Erica Rowell, Hunter and Byron Strickland and Blake Cleland, also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Monday evening (Nov. 25, 2013) starting at 6 P.M. at The Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GA.. Funeral services for Mr. Johns will be held Tuesday morning (Nov. 26, 2013) at 11 A.M. from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Woodruff and Charles Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Rowell, Hunter and Byron Strickland, Charles, Roger, David and Skipper Harris, Derek Johns, George and Jason Sapp. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
