August 28, 1971 — October 28, 2024

Nahunta

Heidi Lynn Blount Wells beloved wife, daughter, sister and aunt of Nahunta passed away Monday afternoon (October 28, 2024) at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL after a brief illness.

Born in Daytona Beach, FL her parents are Jack Carnell Blount of Nahunta and the late Judith “Judy” Ann Widener Blount. She is also preceded in death by an infant child; her maternal grandparents, Wyatt & Clara Widener; and her paternal grandparents, Sam & Bessie Blount.

Heidi was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a devoted educator who was employed at Waynesville Primary School for many years and recently was employed by Bethune Middle School in Charlton County. Every child who had the privilege to be one of her students, were blessed by her dedication and love for all of “her kids”. She was also a talented cosmetologist who beautified the county for many years before dedicating her life to education.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. All who were blessed to be loved by her will miss her radiant light and love. She was a devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She spent most of her free time supporting her nieces and nephews in all their pursuits and cheered the loudest and basked in their triumphs. She also loved her students, once you were one of “her kids”, you were hers forever.

She was the most loving, encouraging, and devoted sister. To be her brother or sister was to be blessed beyond measure. She was a beloved wife whose main joy was spending time with her husband. Married for 21 years, her life was dedicated to Mike and their life together.

There are no words to adequately describe how special and loved she was by her family and community. To be her friend was a privilege she bestowed to all. Her laughter, her smile and her beautiful face was a treasure that we will hold in our hearts forever.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Wells of Nahunta; her father, Jackie Blount of Nahunta; her 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Wyatt Blount (Pamela), Robert “Bobby” Barnaby Blount and Justen Smith (Katie) all of Nahunta; a sister, Crystal Johns of Nahunta; nieces and nephews, Corbin Barnaby, Abby Barnaby, Sam Wyatt Blount, Amelia Ann Blount, Jude Barnaby, Judianah Blount, Xander Smith, Sutton Lain Blount, Blythe Smith and Kade Smith; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday (November 2, 2024) starting at 10am at Southside Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (November 2, 2024) at 11am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Allen and Rev. Phillip Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
