Helen Lane Crews

Hortense- Helen Lane Crews, 84 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday morning (December 17, 2013) at Bayview Nursing Home, in Nahunta. Born in Hoboken, GA her parents were William Lawton and Mattie Williams Lane. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Mary Johns, and several brothers and sisters. Helen was a homemaker and a member of Atkinson Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, babysitting, and loved the outdoors. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Harry Marvin Crews, of Hortense; 2 sons, Harry Marvin Crews, Jr., of Hortense, William Joseph Crews, of Hortense; 3 grandchildren, Kristina Montgomery. Timothy Ashton Davis, and Sharama Helena Herrin (John), of Brunswick; 2 great grandchildren, Calen Raulerson, Michael Landon Montgomery; 1 brother and sister-in-law, William Lane (Mary), of Hoboken; 2 sisters, Joyce Johns, of Nahunta, and Doris Griffin, of Waycross. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Wednesday (December 18, 2013) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday afternoon (December 19, 2013) at 2 PM, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Mike Yawn and Rev. Wayne Higginbotham officiating. Pallbearers will be Lanis Lane, Allan Lane, Rocky Johns, Harry Lee, Bobby Byrd, and Larry Lane. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
