Herman Leroy Johns

Middleburg,FL – Herman Leroy Johns, 72, of Middleburg passed away Friday evening (October 27, 2023) at Ascension St. Vincents Health Center in Middleburg.

Born in Winokur, GA his parents were Gordon C. Johns and Ruth Arnold Johns. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Johns Davis; 3 sisters, Gertrude Hodges, Amelia Cook and Tavares Lane Tatum; and a brother, Gordon C. Johns.

Herman was a heavy equipment operator who loved logging, cutting grass, fishing and being outdoor.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Johns of Middleburg FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Leroy Johns (Tina) of St. Augustine, FL; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hinds (Will) of Middleburg,FL, Julie Smithie (Avery) and Marianne Harrison (Ronnie) all of Jesup; 19 grandchildren, Amber, Raven, Shawntel, Devon, Ashley, Emily, Justin, Austin, Storm, Hunter, Gracie-Mae, Keith, Kyler, Zachary, Amber, Kyler, Christopher, Michelle, and Declan; 22 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon (November 11, 2023) from 12:30pm – 1:00pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon (November 11, 2023) at 1:00PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in Bachlott Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Chapman, “Will” Ladual Williams, Devon Hinds, Avery Smithie, Kyler Lott and Wayne Johnson.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
