Mr. Howard Charles Martin, 58, of Hortense passed away Friday afternoon (Feb. 5,2021) in The Southeast Georgia Health Systems, Brunswick Campus after an extended illness.
Born in Statesboro, Georgia he was the son of Clayton and Veda Swindell Martin, he was also preceded by a brother, William Martin and 2 sisters, Regenia Blocker and Edna Miller.
One that enjoyed life to the fullest he enjoyed telling jokes, driving his truck, buying, and selling cars, fishing and his dogs. Mr. Martin was of The Baptist Faith.
Survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Roxanne Chapman Martin, of Hortense, 2-sons, Josh Stokes, of Meldrim, GA., and Bryan Kidwell, also of Meldrim, GA., 2-daughters and a son-in-law, Angela, and Anthony Brower, of Waynesville and Sandy Pickren, also of Waynesville, 2-grandchildren, Makala and Maleaya Brower, his nephew, Cale Blocker, of Glennville, also several other Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
A Graveside service will be held Monday afternoon (Feb. 8, 2021) at 2P.M. from The Mount Olive Cemetery with Rev. Mike Lynn Officiating.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.R Hompkins, Sean Chapman, Cody Durham, Andy Johns, Josh Stokes, Brandon Waters, Levi Johns and Tyler Johns.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie McCleod, George Brower, Danny Breese and Shane Chapman. All Honorary are asked to meet by 1:30 Monday at the cemetery.
Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
